Soul Food

We are proud to partner with Queen’s Soul Food, a student-run organization that focuses on alleviating poverty and food insecurity. Untouched food from all 3 dining halls is picked up each evening by members of Soul Food and delivered to Kingston area shelters.

In response to the COVID-19 situation, Hospitality Services was quick to shut down the majority of their locations, leaving 1 dining hall open. After closing 23 retail locations and 2 dining halls, we had some food left on hand! Through quick action of our staff were proud to have increased our regular donations to different organizations in Kingston to help support groups in need during this challenging time. Many different organizations in Kingston have received donations or are scheduled to receive them. Currently, the full list of these partners is:

  • Partners in Mission Food Bank 
  • Salvation Army
  • Martha’s Table
  • Kingston Youth Shelter

  • Lunch by George

Queen’s Hospitality Services is proud to partner with Queen’s Soul Food, a student run organization which delivers the unconsumed food from Queen’s University campus cafeterias to local Kingston shelters every night. The organization was founded in 2007 and has now expanded to bring the unused food from both Leonard and Ban Righ dining halls to four local shelters as well as the Kingston Street Truck Mission in the winter
