“I’ve been a Chef at Queen’s for 18 years, since April 2001. I love the fact that everyday there is a new challenge and I really enjoy being a part of the amazing team that we have in the Queen’s Community. I love organizing my brigade and also preparing amazing food for our customers to consume. My favourite dishes I’ve prepared as a Chef at Queen’s is when I am doing Chef Tables in the dining room throughout the academic year. Sometimes I will choose recipes that I have never tried to make before and the students really enjoy them. A little bit about myself – I am born & raised in Kingston and I am married and have 3 children Chloe (daughter 19) and Twins Tanner (son 14) Talon (daughter 14).”

“I joined the team here at Queens in November 1998 in the position of Sous Chef at Ban Righ Hall; I was promoted to the position of Chef of Leonard Hall then eventually back to Ban Righ as the Chef. I love that every day is an adventure, you get to meet a wide diversity of people, creating menus that the students enjoy, working and collaborating with a great group of people. We have an amazing team here at Queens! I love grilling and smoking meat on a BBQ, I decided we would smoke pork loins for the students for dinner and it was a huge hit. I like trying different cooking methods and experiment with menu offerings until we find something the students really enjoy. An interesting fact about me is that I was born in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, which is the largest and most populous island in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores off the coast of Portugal, moved to Canada when I was 4.”
